Two Los Angeles County men were arrested early Tuesday in Oxnard after leading the California Highway Patrol on a 24-mile chase in both directions on the Ventura Freeway.

Richard Wayne Dahl, 38, of Palmdale, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, felony evasion of a peace officer, driving under the influence, and hit and run.

Dahl’s passenger, Tirlok Singh, 30, of Canoga Park was arrested for resisting arrest and being drunk in public.

The pursuit, which reached speeds of 115 m.p.h., started at 12:33 a.m. when Dahl, driving a pickup northbound on the Ventura Freeway, failed to stop after the CHP signaled him to pull over north of Carmen Drive in Camarillo.

During the pursuit by two CHP vehicles, Dahl drove his pickup across the freeway median into the southbound lanes and also sideswiped a car. There were no injuries, the CHP reported.

The CHP stopped Dahl’s vehicle by intentionally striking the pickup in the southbound lanes of the freeway south of Wagon Wheel Road in Oxnard, deputies said.
