OPERATION KIDPRINT: Assemblywoman Debra Bowen will be at the Richmond Street Fair in El Segundo on Saturday to host Operation Kidprint. Parents can have their children fingerprinted for identification purposes, which will help police if a child is reported missing.
Parents will be able to create a card with the child’s fingerprints, medical history and any distinguishing body marks. Youngsters will receive coloring books and posters with lessons on safety.
“It’s kind of an insurance policy that no one wants to think about using,” said Bowen, who also provided the service to parents in 1993.
Operation Kidprint will be at the Richmond Street Fair, between El Segundo Boulevard and Grand Avenue, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
