Conference to Explore ‘Self-Segregation’ Problem

Share

Dawn Hodson, president of the Ventura consulting firm of J.D. Hodson & Associates, will discuss “Combatting Self-Segregation” at a regional conference of the American Society for Training and Development in Los Angeles next month.

Hodson will focus on how individuals and groups in the workplace often isolate themselves according to gender, ethnic background or occupation.

“By doing so, many unwittingly undermine their own career opportunities and exacerbate divisions among people,” she observes.

Hodson’s presentation will be based on her research as a diversity and organizational development consultant during the past 13 years.

The society claims to be the world’s largest organization of its kind, with more than 55,000 members.

The conference will be held Nov. 9 at the L.A. Airport Marriott.
