The Ventura County Council of the Boy Scouts honored Lockheed-Martin chief test pilot Tom Morgenfeld Tuesday at its annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner in Oxnard.
The Camarillo resident received the Fritz Huntsinger Sr. Award, bestowed each year when the Eagle Scout class is dedicated in honor of a prominent Ventura County Eagle Scout. Morgenfeld attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16 in Hamburg, N.Y.
Morgenfeld became Lockheed’s chief test pilot four years ago and has worked for the defense contractor since 1979. Prototypes he has flown include the F-117, better known as the Stealth fighter.
The pilot also has two sons who are Eagle Scouts.
The event at the Radisson Hotel at River Ridge also recognized the Eagle Scout class of 1994-1995, which included more than 100 youths from almost every city in the county.
