Van Nuys : Meeting Planned to Discuss Erwin Park

Share

Responding to resident concerns about security and the absence of children’s play equipment, a deputy in City Councilman Mike Feuer’s office will meet with Van Nuys residents Saturday to discuss possible improvements to Erwin Park.

The block-sized green area at the intersection of Erwin Street and Ethel Avenue is a “passive park,” in the sense that it is not staffed, said Sharon Mayer, Feuer’s chief field deputy for the Valley.

As such, the councilman is seeking neighborhood input about how to make the park a safer and better-utilized place.

This meeting is the first of several that Feuer intends to conduct in coming months at parks in his district, including Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Park, Studio City Recreation Center and Laurel Canyon Park.

Representatives from the Recreation and Parks Department will also attend the 10 to 11 a.m. meeting at the park.
