CLANG CLANG CLANG: Went the trolley, or so it could go along Thousand Oaks Boulevard if the City Council and business people begin a shuttle for shoppers, tourists and locals among shopping areas and attractions. BIO BIZ: Profits were popping for techno-type companies and bio businesses in Ventura County last quarter, with Amgen Inc., BioSource International and Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. posting impressive earnings. (D7D) . . . BioSource, a Camarillo firm that makes test kits for research on immunological diseases, expects revenues to continue to climb. . . . Said spokeswoman Aspasia Alexander: “As long as there are diseases out there in the world that affect the immune system, there will always be a need for our supplies.”

ON LOCATION: A Studio City-based film crew was on location at Ventura City Hall Monday shooting a cable TV movie called “Death Benefit,” a true story of a woman who set fires and murdered for small insurance benefits. . . . Location manager Don Kruger, who shot episodes of “Mannix” and “Mission Impossible” at the former courthouse in the ‘70s, suggested City Hall as a stand-in for the San Diego court where the woman was tried and convicted. . . . Said Kruger: “It’s great to get a chance to film here again. I love this old courthouse.”

THE GONZ: Those who came of age during the ‘70s remember him from his radio days at the old KMET in Hollywood, the rock ‘n’ roll station for Southern California. . . . Now, after 25 years in the business, Jeff Gonzer, husband and father of two young sons, is at home in Ventura County, rocking with old and new tunes on the Octopus 95.9. . . . Said the man known by thousands as the Gonz, “I was the pied piper of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. Now, I’m just trying to live a normal life with my family.”
