DECISION ’95

Share

Voters in the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys-- along with those in Westlake Village and Agoura Hills-- will have a chance to go to the polls Tuesday to elect members of school boards, water boards and city councils.

In the Antelope Valley, seven conservative Christian school board candidates have drafted a “contract with Antelope Valley families,” a local variation on the Republican Party’s “contract with America.” Among other things it endorses “non-revisionist” teaching of American and world history and opposes teaching about sexual orientation.

To the south, school overcrowding is the key issue in several Santa Clarita Valley school districts. A recall election, meanwhile, has enlivened the usually sedate politics of tiny Westlake Village.
