Youth : News for the 18-and-under crowd : TUSTIN : After-School Music Program to Continue
The String Education Project, an after-school music program of the Tustin Unified School District, has been extended to a second year, officials said.
Students in grades five through 12 who wish to learn to play a stringed musical instrument, including violin, viola, cello or bass, may take part in the twice-weekly classes, beginning this month. Instruments are available for rental.
“We had a great response to the program in its first year,” district spokesman Mark Eliot said. “A lot of people have donated many different instruments for the program.”
The class will continue through the spring, when advanced students will give a concert.
