Gratitude for Film Festival Response

Share

* We were overwhelmed and grateful for the response that brought 400 people to see “Weapons of the Spirit” and to dialogue with the writer and director, Pierre Sauvage on Oct. 1. We regret the inconvenience to those who could not be seated.

In presenting a film festival, the Diversity Roundtable of the Conejo (co-sponsored by the American Assn. of University Women, Thousand Oaks Branch, and Cal Lutheran University) believe that there is a desire within our community to understand the issues of diversity and to join together to discuss what it takes to build community. We believe the response to the showing of the first film in the series confirms this belief.

Because admission is free, there are no reserved seats and people are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. We hope the prospect of a full house will not discourage those who wish to attend, as we will try to arrange a second showing if necessary.

The final film of the series to be shown at the Preus-Brandt Forum at Cal Lutheran is “Spices,” from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19. Discussion, led by CLU professor Paul Hanson, will follow the film.
