ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : A Motto City
When it incorporated in 1926, Placentia was the smallest city in Orange County, with a population of 800 inhabiting 117 acres.
The city adopted the motto “Placentia, the home of the Valencia” in tribute to its groves of Valencia oranges. The city’s motto was later changed to “The people are the city.”
