PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : NFC : Sore Young Seems Unlikely for 49ers
San Francisco 49er quarterback Steve Young wasn’t talking or practicing, feeding speculation he’ll miss Sunday’s game against Carolina because of his bruised and sore left shoulder.
Coach George Seifert said Young--hurt against Indianapolis Oct. 15--felt sore after workouts Wednesday.
“We’ll see how he is [today] and we’ll make whatever decision then,” Seifert said.
Meanwhile, 49er President Carmen Policy said they are actively planning on not having injured fullback William Floyd back for next year considering the severe damage in his right knee.
There was better news concerning tight end Brent Jones, expected to miss two to four weeks after also injuring his knee. Jones, however, ran routes in practice Thursday.
“I was amazed,” Seifert said. “He may play Sunday.”
