New Senior Housing: Kaufman & Broad Home...
New Senior Housing: Kaufman & Broad Home Corp., California’s largest home builder, said Monday it has launched its first housing project for seniors. Planned for Oceanside, the Ocean Hills Country Club will have about 1,500 homes and be tailored for retirees. “Statistics show that the over-50 population will increase by more than 25% in this decade alone, and that by 2013, the medium age in America will be 50. Because of that, Kaufman and Broad is looking closely at housing opportunities within the senior market,” said William R. Cardon, president of Kaufman & Broad in San Diego. Although there are no plans for Orange County yet, Kaufman’s Las Vegas division will be building a retirement community there called Sentosa.
