ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : Buried Loot?
Tales of hidden treasure in Orange County abound, one of the most intriguing about a 1925 railroad heist on a Santa Ana-to-Oceanside train.
The robber, who hid in the baggage car, shot the attendant and stole a sack of several thousand dollars before jumping off the speeding train. Stories persist that the money still lies buried along the tracks.
