THOUSAND OAKS : Forum to Discuss Retail Center Plan
Instead of having a City Council meeting tonight, officials will host a town hall forum to gather community comment on a proposal to build an upscale shopping center next to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
The second of two community forums, the meeting will give residents the opportunity to discuss the merits of a plan to build a multiscreen theater, shops and restaurants on the east side of the city’s premier arts center.
A hotel complex is also being considered for the property.
City Council members in September agreed to enter exclusive negotiations with Kilroy Industries, the El Segundo development company that wants to construct the project.
Negotiators are trying to complete negotiations for the development before the 90-day agreement expires late next month.
