Flirting With Trouble When in Berkeley

Share

Finally I had found something in common with Robin Abcarian (“Flirting Is a Girl’s Best Friend,” Nov. 1).

Abcarian describes how good it felt to flirt freely in San Francisco during a recent business trip. I agree wholeheartedly; there’s nothing wrong with two people making each other feel good in a non-contact sport that is harmless.

She also described her attempts to flirt across the bay in Berkeley as being somewhat of a “bummer.” Her tie-dyed targets shut her down.

I would like to inform her that these guys were most likely wimped-out by the women of Berkeley, who consider a smile by a man to be threatening and a wink to be criminal sexual harassment.
