Share

A film from India about an impoverished woman spurned by her community after rebuffing the amorous advances of a local tax collector will be shown Sunday at Cal Lutheran University, ending an international film series.

“Spices” is the third in a series of international films sponsored by the Cultural Diversity Roundtable, a group of Conejo Valley women who seek to promote diversity in the community. Their group is jointly supported by the university and the American Assn. of University Women of Thousand Oaks.

Following the film, Paul Hanson, a history professor who has lived in India, will lead a discussion on the issues of prejudice and tolerance touched on in the movie.
