HUNTINGTON BEACH : Update : Follow-up on the news : Roller Hockey Teams Get a New Home

Share

Roller hockey teams are now playing in the Girls and Boys Club of Huntington-Valley’s new outdoor portable rink--the first in the city.

Huntington Beach contributed $4,000 toward the rink, which is on the basketball court at McCallen Park for league play. The rink can be dismantled when not in use.

Youth leagues play from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, said Tanya Grimes, club executive director. Some teams still have openings for players.

Scholarships are available for youngsters who cannot afford the league fee, Grimes said, and grants are being sought to buy equipment for young players who do not have the means to buy league-required equipment.
