Fund Set Up for Family of Fullerton Plane Crash Victim

A trust fund has been set up to aid the family of Sharan Ernst, the woman killed Monday when a light plane crashed into her Fullerton townhouse after missing a runway at nearby Fullerton Airport.

Of particular need, a family member said, is furniture for a new apartment the family intends to move into this weekend. Ernst lived in the townhouse with her husband, Ron, and three grown children.

“They need everything,” Debbie Oresko said. Among the items lost in the crash, she said, were couches, chairs, beds, dressers, a dining room table, appliances, telephones, lamps, and coffee tables. “Everything we take for granted,” she said.

People wishing to donate household goods, Oresko said, should contact the Calvary Chapel Christian Center in Brea at (714) 529-3069. Those wanting to contribute funds to the Ernst Family Trust, she said, should contact McAulay & Wallace Mortuary at (714) 525-4721 or send contributions to California State Bank, c/o D. Townzen, PO Box 4059, Anaheim, CA 92803.

A memorial service for Ernst, 43, was scheduled at Fullerton’s Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Friday night.

A spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board said earlier this week that the cause of the accident--in which the two people in the aircraft also died--is still under investigation.
