THE BOYS ARE BACK: The soundtrack to Disney’s new digitally animated “Toy Story” features a duet by Randy Newman and Lyle Lovett, but the song that may be getting the biggest boost from the project isn’t even in the film or on the accompanying album. Thin Lizzy’s 1976 hit “The Boys Are Back in Town” has been a catchy feature of omnipresent TV commercials for the film, pegged to the advertising slogan “the toys are back in town.”

In a fortuitous coincidence, the revival comes just before the 10th anniversary Jan. 4 of the death of Lizzy leader Phil Lynott. On that date, the surviving members of the band will reunite for a concert in Lynott’s native Dublin, with Lizzy fans Jon Bon Jovi, Henry Rollins and Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott handling the vocals. Proceeds from the event will go to Lynott’s mother.

In the U.S., Mercury Records is preparing a three-CD Thin Lizzy anthology. Meantime, “The Boys Are Back in Town” is available on the single-disc “Dedication” compilation.
