A 33-year-old Simi Valley man was booked Monday night on suspicion of drunk driving and failure to yield after leading Simi Valley police on a 26-mile, 35-minute high-speed chase.

Michael Meyer, who was driving a 1972 Chevy Malibu, failed to pull over when Simi Valley police attempted to make a traffic stop at Stearns Street and Los Angeles Avenue at 7:46 p.m., said Lt. Rex Jones.

Meyer, allegedly traveling at speeds of up to 75 m.p.h. in 35 m.p.h. and 40 m.p.h. zones, led three police cars through Simi Valley, onto the Simi Valley Freeway, to Thousand Oaks and then, on surface streets, back to Simi Valley, Jones said.

Blocked at the Simi Valley Public Cemetery on Thompson Lane, Meyer was arrested, Jones said.

No cars were hit and no one was injured in the pursuit.
