Universal City : Firehouse Takes Lead From Old TV Show

Share

In a nod to the fictional lifesavers of the 1970s television series “Emergency,” the county Fire Department unveiled a facility at Universal Studios on Thursday named after the show’s station house.

The characters Gage and DeSoto were nowhere to be seen, but Kelly Brackett was on hand when Fire Department officials dedicated the new Station 51 on the studio’s Universal City lot. Actually, it was actor Robert Fuller, who played the Rampart Hospital physician on the 1972-77 NBC series.

Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe, who played the paramedics, were unable to attend.
