If Terry Donahue decides to retire as UCLA’s football coach and accept CBS’ offer to become a college football commentator, he will work with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz at the Sun Bowl on Dec. 27 and the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 2.

Donahue said Monday he has told CBS that he will decide before Dec. 19, the day the Bruins leave for the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu on Christmas Day.

It was also learned Monday that CBS plans to use Pat Haden as the commentator on the Orange Bowl Jan. 1. Harvey Schiller, president of Turner Sports, which has Haden under contract, said CBS had asked permission to use Haden, and that permission was granted.
