With African food and ancestral ceremonies, Cal Lutheran on Saturday will hold its third Kwanzaa celebration, an African American holiday celebrating family.

Traditional songs, music, dancing and poetry readings will be highlighted during the one-day celebration, along with a feast called Karamu.

Kwanzaa is usually observed for seven days, from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, and stresses the principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, purpose, creativity, cooperative economics and faith.
