L.A. Brokers Settle Feud: Brokers Fred Sands and Prudential Jon Douglas say they will allow their Westside agents to use the real estate listing service owned by four broker associations. The two large real estate firms set off a dispute in September when they forced their 1,600 Westside agents to begin using the new California Listing Service, which is owned by participating brokers, and to drop out of an agent-dominated organization that provides the Combined Los Angeles Area Westside multiple listing service. Agents will now be able to use either service. Fred Sands said it was taking too much time to train agents on the new system. “Perhaps the agents were not ready for the technology,” he said.
