Berniece Dalton Janssen; Actress, Ziegfeld Follies Girl

Berniece Dalton Janssen, 85, former actress and one of the famed Ziegfeld Follies girls in 1930. Janssen, who was the mother of actor David Janssen, remained active in the California chapter of the Ziegfeld Club, remarking at the group’s 25th anniversary dinner: “I remember my costume. It was mainly a large hat.” Born in Napence, Neb., Janssen was named Miss Nebraska in 1928. She went to New York and Broadway, appearing with Ziegfeld and in such hits as “Rio Rita.” On Nov. 26 in Woodland Hills.
