BREA : New Program to Aid Medical Emergencies

Share

The city began a program this week that will help firefighters and paramedics called to the homes of elderly residents for medical emergencies, officials said.

Under the program, residents who are 60 or older fill out information forms detailing medical history, medication requirements, emergency contacts and other data.

The form is inserted into a highly visible, colorful refrigerator magnet designed by Brea firefighter Dana Kemper. When responding to emergency calls at the homes of senior citizens, emergency crews will check for the “Life Alert” magnet when they arrive, officials said.

The free magnets are available at the Brea Senior Center, 500 S. Sievers St. Information: (714) 990-7785.
