Boat Parade to Set Sail
The 19th annual Parade of Lights will sail through Ventura Harbor tonight, celebrating the theme of “Kids’ Christmas.”
The parade begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to draw more than 60 vessels and paddle boats.
The boats will compete in several categories, including best theme and the “people’s choice,” determined by the loudness of cheers for each boat. Dinghies under 16 feet are allowed to compete for the first time this year.
Categories for large vessels include grand sweepstakes, best commercial, best nonprofit, best sailboat and best powerboat.
