Churches Offer Handel’s ‘Messiah’

The choirs of Fountain Valley Baptist Church and Sunkist Baptist Church will present the musical program “Handel’s Messiah” at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Don Walsh Auditorium of Garden Grove High School. Christ Church Unity will show the video “Star Quest” following the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. The video, written by the Rev. St. Clement’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church will celebrate “Las Posadas” at 6 p.m. this evening. Las Posadas is the Mexican celebration of Christ’s birth. The service begins with people gathering at the church for readings before going in procession from house to house until they reach a certain destination where they are “accepted” and a fiesta begins.
