Volunteers : Helping hands : HUNTINGTON BEACH : Poinsettias Help Seniors’ Smiles Bloom
Thanks to the Huntington Harbour Garden Club, 80 homebound senior citizens have poinsettias to brighten their homes for the holidays.
Volunteers from the garden club made Christmas tree ornaments to decorate the poinsettias, which were donated by Home Depot.
The seniors also received holiday gift bags of food from the Huntington Beach Council on Aging, Fountain Valley Price Club and the Huntington Beach Rotary Club sponsored the project.
The Council on Aging is seeking people to help year-round with programs for seniors, said Arleen Stevens, volunteer coordinator. Information: (714) 960-2478.
