Waiting for 2003
As a teenager during the 1930s, I used to wonder if I would live to the next century and see the wonders of the year 2000 at age 80. Now the odds are pretty good that I will.
I no longer wonder about the miracles that I might see. I expect minor advancements in today’s world, although peace in Bosnia would be nice and not a minor event.
Now my goal is to reach the year 2003. I dearly want to see what a balanced federal budget looks like. Maybe I’ll even be able to feel it and taste it.
