Contain Air Traffic to Reduce Risk, Noise
We do not need, or want, a commercial airport in this area. Neither do we need additional hangars at Camarillo Airport.
The existing volume of air traffic into Point Mugu Naval Air Station, together with traffic into Camarillo Airport, exposes eastern Camarillo to potential disaster as well as high noise levels.
Accidents blamed on pilot error and/or mechanical problems are bs enough. We do not need to increase the potential danger and noise levels by increasing traffic. One afternoon not long ago, between 2 and 4:30 p.m., I counted 36 planes with some traffic headed east, against the heavier southbound and westbound traffic.
Let’s avoid creating additional problems.
