Pair Steal Credit Union’s Quarters
Two pistol-packing bandits burst into the Antelope Valley Union High School District’s credit union Friday and stole two sacks of quarters, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The robbers entered the credit union in the 700 block of West Lancaster Boulevard about 9:20 a.m., Deputy Paul Ullman said. While one robber walked behind the counter, the other pulled out a gun and ordered employees and customers to the ground.
The robbers forced employees to open the vault and grabbed two bags containing quarters, Ullman said. They fled in a brown station wagon that was abandoned in a nearby alley, and deputies spent three hours searching for them, he said.
