Unit Instruments Sees Quarterly Surge in Net

YORBA LINDA — Unit Instruments Inc. reported Wednesday that net income surged in the fiscal second quarter on higher sales.
The Yorba Linda manufacturer of gas process equipment said net income for the second quarter ended Dec. 2 more than tripled to $2.6 million, or 58 cents a share, from $750,000, or 17 cents, for the same period the previous year. Sales increased 49% to $15.6 million from $10.4 million.
For the six-month period, the company reported net income of $3.9 million, or 87 cents a share, up from $893,000, or 21 cents a share, a year ago. Sales increased 54% to $30.6 million from $19.9 million.
