Los Angeles City Atty. James Hahn and his citizens advisory committee are calling on community leaders and groups to nominate people for the committee’s annual public service awards.
The committee, known as the Criminal Justice Panel, seeks to recognize people, organizations and media professionals who have furthered the cause of law enforcement and of a fair criminal justice system, said Hahn spokesman Ted Goldstein.
The Criminal Justice Panel, headed by Ramon Hernandez, is a 21-member committee that advises Hahn on law enforcement and criminal justice issues.
Community leaders and groups are encouraged to contact Goldstein at (213) 485-2065 for information on the criteria and requirements for the awards, and for nomination forms.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in June.
