Three members of the Disney GOALS program for disadvantaged youth took part in the National Hockey League’s youth holiday tournament in the Boston area.

The skaters were Jose Rojas, 13; Luis Sanchez, 14, and Frankie Valdovinos, 11. All three live in the Jeffrey-Lynne neighborhood in central Anaheim.

About two dozen youngsters from minority-focused hockey programs competed in the tournament, which honored Willie O’Ree, the first black player in the NHL.
