Share

Los Angeles zoning officials will hold public hearings on a number of applications for city permits within the next week, including a proposed house of worship in a North Hills neighborhood and a proposed liquor permit in Northridge.

The hearings will be held either at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave., in Sherman Oaks or at 201 N. Figueroa St., Room 170, in downtown Los Angeles.

The applications include requests for:

* A ruling overturning the decision of a city zoning official rejecting a conditional-use permit that would have allowed a church to operate in a North Hills neighborhood. The establishment is proposed to be at 9303 Burnet Ave. The Board of Zoning Appeals hearing will be held in downtown Los Angeles at 10 a.m. Jan. 16.

* A conditional-use permit to allow the construction of a cellular telephone antenna on top of an apartment building at 4912 Kester Ave. in Sherman Oaks. The antenna would make the overall height of the building 56 feet, although the area has a 35-foot height limit. The hearing will be held in Sherman Oaks at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
