‘90s Family : Who’s Minding...
The Children’s Home Society is a large, statewide organization that provides family and children services. Its child-care resource and referral program, which is funded by the California Department of Education, maintains a database of all licensed child-care providers.
This free service is available to every family searching for child care in Orange County.
Parents can call a referral counselor at (714) 543-2273 and be given the names of licensed child-care providers who match their needs: location, hours of care, languages spoken, etc.
Typically, three to five referrals are offered, using the nearest cross streets to a family’s home or workplace as a point of reference.
The Children’s Home Society is at 1950 E. 17th St. Suite 150, Santa Ana. The main telephone number is (714) 835-8252.
