Panorama City : New Signal Installed at Busy Intersection

Share

Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon and Panorama City residents on Friday celebrated the installation of a new traffic signal at Van Nuys Boulevard and Tupper Street.

The busy intersection was the scene of at least five traffic accidents in 1995, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, and has been on the city Department of Transportation’s priority list for needed traffic signals, according to staff from Alarcon’s office.

Alarcon has made a priority of expediting installment of new traffic signals at dangerous or busy locations in his 7th District. The intersection at Van Nuys Boulevard and Tupper Street is often used by pedestrians crossing congested Van Nuys Boulevard.

Alarcon’s staff said the councilman is responsible for putting eight new traffic signals on the fast track for completion.

In addition to the signal that was turned on in Panorama City on Friday, another is under construction at Telfair Avenue and Terra Bella Street in Pacoima.
