PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : Packer Coach in Serious Condition

Share

Gil Haskell, the Green Bay Packers’ receiver coach who spent nine years as a coach with the Rams, is in serious condition at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas after suffering an apparent head injury after a freak sideline accident in the second quarter of Sunday’s game.

Cowboy safety Darren Woodson tackled Packer receiver Robert Brooks into Haskell. The coach stretched out his arms to stop the collision, but was knocked backward to the turf with nothing to break his fall.

His head bounced off the turf and he was motionless for several minutes. He appeared to regain his senses, and was eventually put on a stretcher and carried from the stadium in an ambulance. Haskell was to be evaluated Sunday night and again today.
