Applicants Sought for ’96 Grand Jury
Applications are being accepted to serve on the 1996-97 Ventura County Grand Jury.
To serve, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old and a Ventura County resident for at least a year. Applicants cannot serve if they have been convicted of a felony or the crime of malfeasance while in public office.
Grand jurors serve from July 1, 1996, through June 30, 1997.
They can expect to spend 32 to 40 hours a week on grand jury business, officials said.
The panel investigates the management of various governmental departments and agencies and has the authority to hand down criminal indictments.
