A truck carrying corrosive chemicals overturned Monday in Westwood, prompting an evacuation of the immediate area, a city fire department spokesman said.
The spill occurred at 3:23 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Westwood Boulevard, said Jim Wells of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No one was injured, but the chemicals can cause eye irritation, he said.
Westwood Boulevard was closed between Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards for about two hours.
