SHOWS FOR YOUNGSTERS AND THEIR PARENTS TOO : Squanto, Geronimo and ‘One Little Indian’ share billing on Disney Channel

The Disney Channel airs a trilogy of films focusing on Native Americans, beginning with the TV premiere of 1994’s Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale (Sunday, 7 p.m.; Monday, 3:30 a.m.; Saturday, 9 p.m.), about a Patuxet tribe leader put on display in England. Adam Beach and Mandy Patinkin star. Tom Tryon stars in 1960’s Geronimo’s Revenge (Thursday, 1:30 a.m.). A young Jodie Foster is among the cast of 1973’s One Little Indian (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.), which tells the tale of a soldier sentenced to hang for helping Indian women and children during a cavalry raid. The soldier escapes with his young Indian ward and a disagreeable camel. Starring James Garner, Vera Miles and Pat Hingle. For ages 8 and up.

The premiering Rory’s Place (weekdays, 7:30 a.m. The Learning Channel) is a follow-up to last season’s “Rory & Me.” Singer-songwriter Rory continues to host the show, part of the network’s “Ready, Set, Learn!” preschoolers’ programming block. The show promises music, animation and original mini-documentaries on topics such as animals in their natural habitat and activities kids can do on their own. New are segments on “Cool Jobs,” which examine adult occupations, and “Can Do,” which teaches toddlers to be creative within their own environments. For ages 2 to 6.

How does a mother tell her daughter she has breast cancer? Such is the dilemma of Brenda Gardner in the rebroadcast of the ABC Afterschool Special: Notes For My Daughter (Thursday, 3 p.m. ABC). Initially, Brenda tries to sugarcoat her condition to “protect” her 13-year-old daughter. Finally, Brenda realizes she must be honest. For ages 8 and up.
