Valleywide : Deadline Extended on Quake Storage Bins

Share

The City Council on Friday approved a proposal to allow homeowners who are doing earthquake repairs to keep storage bins in front of their homes for another six months.

Under the proposal by Councilman Hal Bernson residents will have until July 17 to remove curbside bins containing garbage or used to store clothing, furniture and appliances. The previous deadline was Jan. 17, the second anniversary of the quake.

Bernson introduced the proposal last week after hearing of complaints from residents still repairing their houses that city inspectors had told them to remove their containers or face fines.
