San Jose State Beats CS Fullerton

Sasha Spalding made a short bank shot with nine seconds left to give San Jose State a 68-66 victory at Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Sunday.

Dee Braxton scored 28 points and Shayla Bradshaw had 21 for Cal State Fullerton (4-14, 1-8). Bradshaw missed a 10-footer as time ran out.

Fullerton, which made 20 of 21 free throws, had a 13-point lead with about 16 minutes left, but San Jose State (6-11, 2-7) rallied with a 12-0 run.

In other conference games:

Hawaii 74, UC Irvine 59--Allah-mi Basheer scored 18 points, Leticia Oseguera added 17 and Sabrina Robertson 16 for host UC Irvine (9-9, 4-5).

Tania Brunton made nine of 12 free throws and finished with 25 points and Michelle MacIntyre had 15 for first-place Hawaii (15-2, 9-0).

Pacific 67, Long Beach State 64--Kim Barfield scored 14 points for host Long Beach State (9-9, 4-5).
