From Associated Press

Before this season, 19 players had scored 500 goals in the NHL. Wednesday night, St. Louis Blues center Dale Hawerchuk, 32, became the fourth this year to join that elite group, reaching the milestone in the third period of a 4-0 victory over the Maple Leafs at Toronto.

Hawerchuk smashed the puck into the top right corner of the net to beat goalie Felix Potvin.

Others to join the 500 club this season were the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Mario Lemieux, the New York Rangers’ Mark Messier and the Detroit Red Wings’ Steve Yzerman.
