Thomas Leads Rivals in Contributions
Councilman Jeffery M. Thomas has received and spent the most money of the five candidates vying for three seats on the Tustin City Council in the March 26 election, according to recent campaign finance disclosure statements.
Thomas, 40, has received $10,864 in contributions and has spend nearly $5,100, mostly on printing, the statements show.
The next-highest contributions were reported by Councilman Thomas R. Saltarelli, 48, who loaned his election committee $3,000 and spent $708.50.
The three remaining candidates--Mayor Jim Potts, 42, travel agency manager Jane F. Anderson, 51, and accountant Berklee A. Maughan, 58--each received $700 and spent the money on the city’s $700 candidate filing fee.
The candidates will discuss city issues at a March 13 forum sponsored by the Tustin Chamber of Commerce.
