Owner of Computer Store Robbed, Held, Then Freed
A 39-year-old Yorba Linda man was beaten outside his computer business and then forced into a van and robbed during a kidnapping that may have lasted two hours, Brea police said.
Police are looking for a dark-colored, possibly blue, full-size van with red and white dealership license plate and a right sliding door, Lt. Douglas Dickerson said. Four men were seen beating and abducting Brian Keith Solomon outside his store in the Savi Ranch Business Park about 6:30 p.m., Dickerson said.
When police units arrived, the van fled with the victim.
Solomon called police from Westminster at 8:50 p.m. to say that he had been released. He had been robbed of his wallet and keys but was not seriously injured, Dickerson said.
“It appears that the original motive was a robbery of the business,” he said.
Anyone with information on the incident should call Brea Detective Sgt. Thomas Flenniken at (714) 990-7609.
