** 1/2 Big Mountain, “Resistance,” Giant. Big Mountain’s hits “Touch My Light” and “Baby I Love Your Way” were pretty light, but the San Diego sextet’s third album offers straight-up reggae rhythms and conscious rebel lyrics, and again shows lead singer Quino’s flair for reggae-flavored pop (or is it pop-flavored reggae?). The material is inconsistent and Quino’s positive outlook becomes smile-button cloying on “Inner City Youth,” but “Resistance” is another step forward for Big Mountain.
