Community Post Office to Stay Open
The neighborhood post office in Rolling Hills Estates will stay open, postal officials decided after residents begged them to keep the city landmark open.
Postal service spokesman Larry Dozier said much of the decision to keep the facility open centered around widespread opposition in the community to word of its imminent closure. He said the Los Angeles district headquarters received scores of letter and calls imploring officials to reconsider their plans.
“That had a bearing on our decision,” he said. “We always look at that sort of thing when considering closing any sort of post office because that’s a service.”
