Rapper’s Legacy: Eazy-E’s “Str8 Off the Streetz of . . . Compton” was the nation’s No. 3 best-selling album during its first week in stores, according to figures released Wednesday by SoundScan. The posthumous collection from the seminal gangsta rapper, who died of complications of AIDS last March, sold about 98,000 copies last week. Meanwhile, the “Waiting to Exhale” soundtrack sold 118,000 copies and tops the chart for the fifth consecutive week. Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” sold 109,000 copies.

Remembering Marley: Universal Studios Florida will honor the late reggae king Bob Marley with the creation of “Bob Marley--A Tribute to Freedom,” a new venue at the park that is being developed in partnership with Marley’s widow, Rita. Patterned after Marley’s actual Jamaican house and garden, the attraction is expected to house future performances by his children, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. It will be part of Universal’s new Orlando entertainment complex the E Zone, which opens in early 1998.
